For me, art is the reduction to the essentials

Barbara Sticher

My great-grandma had a tough life. She was born in early 1900s Tyrol as the illegitimate child of a noblewoman and a military man. Named Anna, she was just called the „bastard,“ which defined her life. Despite facing challenges without privilege, she showed strength every day. But happiness was hard to find. Honoring her, I embrace the name „Bastard,“ giving her the family connection she never had. To be a glorious bastard! And of course, the name comes from combining the initial letters of „Barbara Sticher“ with „art,“ representing „kunst“ in German. This makes the name very fitting as it reflects both the personal identity and the artistic aspect, making it a natural choice.
